Who We Are
Western CAM is led by a team of seasoned operators and technical experts with deep experience in battery materials development, scale-up, and manufacturing. With backgrounds at top global companies and a collective track record spanning over 300 years, our leadership played a key role in commercializing the cathode processes now used across the global battery industry.

Western CAM is led by a team of industry veterans with deep experience in cathode active material development, industrial-scale battery manufacturing, and global supply chain execution. Collectively, the team brings over 300 years of operational and technical expertise, including leadership in scaling the globally dominant LFP production process and bringing lithium-ion battery technologies to market across electric vehicles and stationary storage.
Our leadership has held executive roles at major energy storage and battery manufacturing firms, with a proven track record in deploying next-generation production facilities and delivering qualified materials to demanding end markets.
At the helm is Chief Executive Officer Prof Isobel Sheldon OBE, whose 20+ year career spans the evolution of lithium-ion battery technology from R&D through industrialization. Her prior roles include senior leadership at Britishvolt and the UK Battery Industrialisation Centre (UKBIC), and her work has supported global OEMs across multiple platforms. She was awarded the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for her contributions to motor vehicle battery technology.
Together, the Western CAM team is building a domestic CAM manufacturing capability rooted in deep technical expertise, executional discipline, and the knowledge of what it takes to scale.
Why Western CAM?
By establishing localized manufacturing in North America and Europe, we reduce reliance on offshore supply and enable a more secure, compliant, and resilient battery value chain.
Our team brings deep technical expertise and decades of operating experience — including the original development and global scale-up of the carbothermal reduction process used to produce LFP today. We continue to advance industry standards through proprietary innovations that improve LMFP voltage stability, cycle life, and manufacturability.
Through cost-effective, high-volume production methods, Western CAM delivers high-quality materials at the performance and price point needed to support electric vehicles, stationary storage, and next-generation electrification.
